The 95 mile long Kanektok or “Chosen” River is one of Alaska's premier float fishing destinations. Like many an angler you have likely spent hours pouring over all the available literature about these fabled waters. Most often, this endeavor results in imagining beautifully spotted leopard rainbow trout or powerful Pacific salmon "dancing" on the end of your line. Alaska Rainbow Adventures can help facilitate this piscatorial dream with one of our comfortable deluxe Alaska float trips on this true wilderness waterway, and you can experience some of the best sport fishing in the world!

The Kanektok is small enough to wade effectively and do some exciting sight fishing but large enough to float down comfortably. July offers the most variety of species being available, with King, Chum, Sockeye, and Pink Salmon in river with the later available during even years. August and September are prime times for Silver or Coho salmon fishing, combine all the different Pacific salmon with the heavily spotted Leopard Rainbow trout, Arctic Grayling, Arctic Char, Lake Trout, and sea-run Dolly Varden, and you have nine fish species in one river.

Imagine being part of a small group floating down a wild river with unlimited fishing! The special use permit awarded to Alaska Rainbow Adventures allows us to offer float trips during the Kanektok river's prime fishing dates. See our schedule above!

Let us take care of you. Sit back and enjoy safari-style camping and a menu that is the pride of the wilderness. After a good night's sleep on a comfortable cot, wake up to a hearty breakfast and another day of great fishing with experienced guides who have what it takes to make this trip special and is in part that which keeps our repeat customer base of anglers returning year after year.

We encourage our guests to respect the regions natural heritage it's resources, and residents. We designed our trips to do just that. We strive to provide our guests with back-country adventures that are minimal in environmental impact, educational, and enjoyable.

We utilize one guide for every two anglers while floating the river in custom-built rafts, each equipped with custom frames with front and rear seating. The group will settle into different campsites each night, and each stop will provide quality fishing opportunities.
