Launching at Rio Vista, located in San Marcos. Experience the headwaters of the San Marcos river from the comfort of a raft. San Marcos is a natural spring that comes out of the ground at 72° and stays that way consistently all year. With multiple endangered species, it’s truly a crystal clear paradise. With an abundance of Guadalupe, spotted, and largemouth bass these fish are extremely skittish due to lots of pressure and ultra clear water. This trip is primarily good in the fall, winter, and early spring. This is definitely not a trip where you cover miles of water. It’s a relatively small section that requires working spots and a more dialed in presentation. The fishing here can be very tough but also very rewarding.
