As summer fades away, the flats come alive. Early fall, when fronts start pushing through, our water temp starts to drop and provide unique opportunities for all Tampa Bay has to offer. From blitzing Albies to cruising Cobia, you can expect to see a wide variety of species during the fall and winter months. During this switch of seasons, the tides flip as well. We begin to have lower tides during optimum fishing times. This provides longer periods of time we are able to sight fish tailing redfish and other species crushing the flats. Cooler temps and clear water make this time of year another great opportunity to sight fish the fish of a lifetime.
If the beaches are not an option during this time of year due to weather or surf, Tampa Bay offers ample opportunity to fish for juvenile tarpon. It is a great learning opportunity for hooking and fighting tarpon.
