Scotty is not only an avid trout fisherman but has a big passion for salt water fish too. Growing up in the North Island of New Zealand Scotty spent lots of his spare time in the far north chasing Yellow Tail Kingfish, Snapper, Marlin and Tuna. He loves getting over to the Island salt water fly fishing or popping for GT's too.

New Zealand's South Island, is home to stunning mountainous rivers, crystal clear water and beautiful trophy brown trout. NZ trout reach over 10lb in small backcountry streams where it's all about the sight fishing! Watching a fish inhale a nymph or coming up and smashing your dry fly in gin clear water are the things dreams are made of! For beginner to intermediate anglers, we will go in-depth into casting technique, presentation, fly selection, how to fight a fish effectively, reading the river and spotting fish. After a day on the river with Scotty you will have the skills and confidence to take your fly fishing to the next level. For experienced anglers wanting to chase their bucket list fish, Scotty is the man. Whether you are wanting to put as many fish in the net as possible, or chasing a New Zealand trophy trout, Scotty will know the perfect river for the job. To gain access to these fish we can take helicopters to the most remote heat waters in far reaches of the Southern Alps, set out on wilderness camp out missions or drive to some local gems. From the extreme to everything in-between we will make that dream trip a reality. All tackle, fly rod and reel, are provided along with wading boots and socks. All you need are some warm thermal leggings, warm jacket, wind proof layer and wet weather gear (just in case). We only use the highest quality combos and tackle to give you the best chance to tap into an epic fish. Paired with top notch services that goes above and beyond, you'll be in for a trip of a lifetime. Fairlie is a very central location to amazing fishing within a few hour's drive. Mackenzie Country, New Zealand is home to some of the world's biggest trout. Living in pristine alpine water these fish easily top 20lb with some even reaching over 30lb! Surrounded by the beautiful snow capped Southern Alps this area is a stunning fishing location. Canal fishing is most effective using a spin rod. It is an open season so we can fish all year round! Tekapo - Twizel canal systems provide a world class sports fishery regularly producing mega trout not found anywhere else in the world. This is a fishing destination that should be on every anglers bucket list. During a trip with Scotty you will learn in-depth tricks and techniques to feel the most subtle of bites, all rigging and knot tying tips and a full run down on the set up and why its done that way. You will be equipped with the skills to battle one of these monster trout on light gear giving you the best chance to land one. All tackle, rod and reel, lunch, snacks and water will be provided. All you need are some good shoes, warm clothes and wet weather gear (just in case). We only use the highest quality Shimano combos and tackle to give you the best chance to tap into an epic fish.
