Depending on the day, we'll launch from either the historic Forks, M-37 or Green Cottage entrance points to the river and float past classic cabins, structures and more from the birthplace of brown trout being planted in the United States.
We'll spend a full day floating and fishing the historic flies only section of the Pere Marquette River located in beautiful Baldwin Michigan.
Depending on season and conditions you’ll get a chance to either dry fly, indicator or streamer fish your way through the waters that put brown trout on the map for Michigan and North America.
In 1884 the first stocking of German brown trout occurred in the
Baldwin River, what was once referred to as the Upper Branch of the Pere Marquette River.
Float past beautiful cabins scattered throughout remote settings. Enjoy a lunch on the river bank or a nice warm or cold tea or coffee between casts.
Ash provides guiding equipment that is comparable to Echo, TFO, Redington other entry level equipment with either Scientific Angler or Airflo lines depending on fishing techniques along with guide flies and rigging.
You're welcome to bring your own gear or flies if you'd like to give them a try.
