The low country and coastal empire offer a unique experience on our specially high tides due to a new or full moon. Adding up to 1-3’ difference to normal tidal depth, this allows redfish to push into spartina marsh they don’t normally have access to. Hunting for crabs and shrimp, they will literally wave their tails out of the water as they burrow in the mud for food. This in turn, provides the some of the best sight-casting for GA redfish. *This trip is specifically geared towards a flood tide charter solely, averaging 2-3hr. Fee does not include tip.

GA offers year round sight-casting opportunities for our state fish, the red drum. From belly crawlers in the low tide creeks to tailers in the grass on summer flood tides. Red drum, or redfish, can be found in creeks, backcountry rivers and the mud flats of the sounds, allowing us to target them differently based on weather and tides. Although redfish are the main target, seasonal fish may also present opportunities during the summer and fall. Including jack crevalle, bull reds and triple tail. Due to our 6-7’ tides, the 4hr charter is the sweet spot for fishing the best part of the tide possible. It’s not uncommon, however, for the charter to bleed into another hour because of varying boat ride lengths. Departure time and ramp is determined by tide and weather. Fee does not include tip.

Year-round, low tide fishing is our approach, essential for visually locating our target before casting. With a focus on being the hunters of fishing, we pole the skiff over mud flats, around oyster bars, and near grass banks where redfish seek food. Precision is key; we assess their direction and present the fly within their visibility range. Throughout most of the year, redfish are often solitary or in small groups, offering diverse chances. As seasons shift, water clarity changes. Fall to winter yields exceptionally clear water, ideal for sight casting. During this period, redfish form larger schools of 10 to 200 fish, allowing skilled anglers to select targets strategically from the school's periphery.

Experience a distinctive method of redfish hunting within a controlled environment. Redfish gather at creek edges, awaiting tides to access prey like crabs, shrimp, and baitfish. Signs of their presence include water movement, surface disturbances, or bottom feeding. During flood tides, they target crabs, their tails protruding from the water in a behavior called tailing, an exhilarating sight. This approach allows close proximity due to their focus on feeding. Precise casting near their head's direction yields rewarding results, capitalizing on their feeding behavior.
