If you are looking to get into some Steelhead, this is a killer option. Both hatchery & wild steelhead call the feather river home. The natives are Central Valley Steelhead with feather river hatchery steelhead supplemented, both very hard fighting fish pound for pound. They tend to go air-born when hooked, with long fast runs into your backing. Sometimes it’s quality over quantity, other times is quantity and quality. summer/fall/winter/spring depending on the flows. Salmon make their way up as well, trigging the steelhead to follow for what’s known as the “egg bite” & this is when the fishery really shines! By catch’s can include shad, pike minnow, sucker fish and stripped bass. Overall a really fun venue! Let me show you around! -The trip covers 2 anglers, rods, flies, & tackle are included -cold drinks & deli style lunch -Typically fish for around 8-12 hours -meetup location Oroville, Ca -Boat type, Clackacraft -Must bring fishing license/steelhead card 530-690-6636 for meetup address and time!

Join me on one of the nation’s great salmon streams. The Hoh River runs for 56 miles from the glaciers of Mt. Olympus through the towering Hoh River Rainforest to the wild Pacific Coast. Here we will chase steelhead, predominantly, on the fly. Spey rods are an exciting way to fish, cover water, and present a fly to fresh ocean-running steelhead. If that doesnt suit your fancy, centerpinning beads or worms is also on the menu!

This is the largest drainage on the west slope of the Olympics, and it is the first to go out of shape because of it and the last river to return to shape because of the abundance of volcanic clay on its banks. The Queets River, at just under 53 miles long, is almost entirely within Olympic National Park, with the last 4 miles in the Quinault Reservation, so guiding and people/boat pressure is very limited. Lined by ancient old-growth forests, it tends not to change significantly from flooding; that being said when it does decide to change course, it can be dramatic, forming some of the largest log jambs you'll likely ever see. Flows can fluctuate massively within 24 hours...5,000 cfs to 80,000+ cfs, for instance, is not uncommon. Some very large salmon during fall months, chinook to 50 lbs. and coho up to 20 lbs. are not uncommon, and 40"+ steelhead call these waters home during winter and spring.

Depending on the time of year, we will fish anywhere from Delacroix to Port Sulpher, Point La Hache and Venice, to the marshes of Houma (Point Aux Chien, Cocodrie, Dularge). We encourage clients of all skill levels to come fish with us. We will have spinning gear on board, but as always, you are more than welcome to bring your own gear with you. Just as the fly fishing that we do, we will be trying to sightfish most of our fish, but if those conditions do not present themselves, we will do some blind casting with a list of things from gold spoons, to soft plastics, to topwater frogs. This is one of the best ways to introduce young children to the world of sightfishing. Our times on the water will also vary depending on the time of year. In the Summer, we like to try and be on the water quite early (6:30-7:30am) due to the immense heat that begins to build throughout the day as well as beat the summer showers that you can almost be sure of some days starting up not long after lunch. In the Winter, of course, it is quite opposite as we are more anxious for the middle part of the day to give us sunlight to warm things up a bit and get those fish active. Through the Fall and Winter we are normally aiming to be on the water for around 6-7am. We do not really go by any set amount of time on the water, but normally get anywhere from 6-8 hours of fishing in each day. That time frame on the water could vary due to things such as rain, tide, extreme cold or heat, etc. Of course our first priority is putting our anglers on as many fish as we can possibly do so while also keeping them in a safe setting.

Whether you are hunting with a group or running solo, we do our very best to put all hunters on a great buck. If you are looking for your first Trophy class buck or a buck over 150″, River to River Outfitters has managed the hunting grounds for what you are looking for. We are able to do this by raising the acres per hunter average for each hunt. We also do not hunt same farms day after day to give you the best opportunity for a trophy whitetail and see more unpressured deer. River to River Outfitters maintains a 125 inch minimum on bucks taken. We do this so our young bucks can reach maturity and you will be seeing more bucks that run 3 1/2 years old and older. A non-trophy fee of $500 will be required if a hunter should decide to harvest a buck that gross scores less than 125″. We hunt from lock-on stands, single and double ladder stands, ground blinds, box blinds and elevated box blinds. If you have a preference in absush style, let us know so we can have the appropriate sets ready for you when you arrive, ready to hunt.

The fishing on this section can be slow for the first half. Launching at skulls road and getting out at martindale river access. This area is primarily pretty open and easy to fish. Largemouth and gar are the main target for the first half of the trip. Lots of slack water and pads, carp can be sight fishing depending on conditions. There is a big portage over the damn but it’s relatively easy and doesn’t require any help. Under the damn is loaded with anything from hybrid striped bass, black bass , gar , and crappie! This can be fished fast in a few hours or can be picked apart and slowed down to a full day. Once past the damn it’s relatively shallow with a few opportunities to target some big tilapia. Big striper have been caught under the damn so you never know what you might get on this one!

July 22 to July 29~ Eight Days / Seven Nights July 31 to August 6~ Seven Days / Six Nights August 8 to 14~ Seven Days / Six Nights August 16 to 23~ Eight Days / Seven Nights August 25 to September 1~ Eight Days / Seven Nights The Goodnews River flows a relatively short sixty miles to the Bering Sea. from the Ahklun Mountains, some 395 miles from Anchorage. It is small enough to wade effectively and sight fish but large enough to float comfortably; having to float fewer miles also lends to a slower pace allowing for more wading opportunities than longer rivers. You will find some of Alaska's best fishing on the Goodnews, and our special use permit enables us to offer the best start dates. The Goodnews boasts impressive runs of all five species of Pacific Salmon, sea-run Dolly Varden, and resident Leopard Rainbows and Grayling. July offers the most variety of fishing, with King, Chum, Sockeye, and Pink Salmon, the latter returning in even-numbered years. As July fades and August arrives, the Coho or Silver Salmon show up; it is a time when bringing all five species of Pacific salmon to hand is not an improbable task. Resident species live throughout the river and follow the Salmon upriver as they prepare for their spawning rituals. Chrome bright Salmon, most still with sea lice, are the norm. These fish are fresh and feisty and will challenge your angling skills. As part of our Goodnews River program, we use tents made here in Alaska and designed for Alaska's extremes. These tents hold two anglers, have 6-foot ceilings, and come equipped with cots, chairs, and sleeping pads making for a relaxing place to retreat after a long day of fishing. Additionally, we have a custom-built communal gathering tent where meals are prepared and taken and a cozy place to hang out in bad weather. Experience safari-style camping and a menu that's a wilderness favorite, wake to a hearty breakfast and more great fishing with our experienced guides. Help to make, and break camp is appreciated. We utilize one guide for every two anglers while floating the river in custom-built rafts, each equipped with custom frames with front and rear seating. The group will settle into different campsites each night, and each stop will provide quality fishing opportunities. The Goodnews River traverses just a portion of the 4.7 million-acre Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. We encourage our guests to respect the refuge's natural heritage, resources, and the people who reside there. We designed our trips to do just that and strive to provide our guests with minimal-impact back-country adventures that are educational and enjoyable.
