South Island Walk and Wade Adventure

New Zealand's South Island, is home to stunning mountainous rivers, crystal clear water and beautiful trophy brown trout. NZ trout reach over 10lb in small backcountry streams where it's all about the sight fishing! Watching a fish inhale a nymph or coming up and smashing your dry fly in gin clear water are the things dreams are made of! For beginner to intermediate anglers, we will go in-depth into casting technique, presentation, fly selection, how to fight a fish effectively, reading the river and spotting fish. After a day on the river with Scotty you will have the skills and confidence to take your fly fishing to the next level. For experienced anglers wanting to chase their bucket list fish, Scotty is the man. Whether you are wanting to put as many fish in the net as possible, or chasing a New Zealand trophy trout, Scotty will know the perfect river for the job. To gain access to these fish we can take helicopters to the most remote heat waters in far reaches of the Southern Alps, set out on wilderness camp out missions or drive to some local gems. From the extreme to everything in-between we will make that dream trip a reality. All tackle, fly rod and reel, are provided along with wading boots and socks. All you need are some warm thermal leggings, warm jacket, wind proof layer and wet weather gear (just in case). We only use the highest quality combos and tackle to give you the best chance to tap into an epic fish. Paired with top notch services that goes above and beyond, you'll be in for a trip of a lifetime. Fairlie is a very central location to amazing fishing within a few hour's drive.
